A Buffalo man was arrested on felony drug charges after an incident at the Moonlight Motel in Hinsdale on Sunday morning.
Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office charged 40-year-old Fred A. Smith with felony possession of narcotics, felony possession of hallucinogens & criminal possession of paraphernalia.
The charges stem from the report of a woman in distress at a Hinsdale motel.
Smith allegedly told deputies when they arrived that he had cocaine on him, prompting a search of the vehicle and the motel room.
Over $1200 in cash and packaging materials were allegedly found in the car, and MDMA and paraphernalia was found in the motel room.
It was discovered that Smith was on New York State Parole for felony drug possession.
Smith was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Hinsdale Town Court at a later date.
