A 4-year-old girl was struck and killed by an out-of-district school bus outside M.J. Fletcher Elementary School in Jamestown Monday.
Jamestown Police responded to the intersection of Whitehill and Cole Avenue after receiving reports that a child was hit by a Panama Central School District bus.
Officers attempted first aid until the girl was taken to UPMC Chautauqua, where she later died of her injuries.
Jamestown Public Schools released a statement Monday afternoon mourning the loss of their student and Panama School District issued a statement issuing their condolences.
The bus driver is cooperating with the investigation, and no charges have been filed.
