Buddy Simmons II scored a game-high 19 points and Joe Grahovac added a career-best 15 points and nine rebounds as the St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team defeated Bloomsburg University, 83-43, on Wednesday night (Dec. 3) at the Reilly Center.
Simmons II led all scorers, shooting 7-for-13 from the field and 5-for-11 from behind the arc. Frank Mitchell posted his sixth double-double of the season, logging 10 points and 11 rebounds. Achille Lonati also finished in double figures with 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting (2-5 3PT FG).
Items of note:
- St. Bonaventure finished with 11 steals and 11 blocks as a team. The last time the Bonnies had at least 10 blocks and 10 steals in a game was Nov. 10, 2018, against Jackson State, when they logged 15 blocks and 10 steals.
- Eleven blocks is the most by a St. Bonaventure team since at least the 2010-11 season.
- Mitchell’s double-double was his third straight. He added a season-high five assists.
- The Bonnies forced a season-best 19 turnovers and had a season-high 35 bench points.
The Bonnies will travel north to face Big Four rival Buffalo on Saturday (Dec. 6) at Alumni Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. with the radio pregame at 1:30pm EST on 100.1 The Hero.
