The City of Bradford Police Department responded early Monday morning to the 200 block of Jackson Avenue for a reported pedestrian and motor vehicle accident.
A 12-year-old boy had allegedly been struck by a motor vehicle and was thrown into the opposite lane under low-light conditions on a wet roadway due to winter weather.
The driver, a young adult male, remained on scene and rendered aid.
He was also assisted by a passerby who was an off-duty Bradford Regional Medical Center nurse.
The police investigation determined that the boy ran into the roadway at a non-crosswalk location without looking and was struck by the front of the vehicle where the driver had no opportunity to avoid the collision.
At this time, no charges are pending against the driver and the boy’s injuries are believed to be minor.
