An Olean Man has pled guilty to a federal child pornography charge on Wednesday.
56-year-old David J. Johnston pleaded guilty to distribution of child pornography which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years.
The charges stem from Johnston requesting his co-defendant, Kayla R. Kio prior to Feb. 19, 2024, to take sexually explicit videos of a 5-year-old child, to which she complied.
Johnson also sent Kio a different image of child pornography via text message.
Kio was previously convicted of possession of child pornography and is awaiting sentencing.
Johnston is scheduled to be sentenced on May 26.
