The Pirates bats finally woke up last night in Cincinnati — and they woke up in a big way.
Pittsburgh bounced back from Monday’s shutout loss in emphatic fashion, hammering the Reds 8 to 3 to even the series. The big story? Oneil Cruz. The center fielder went three for four with three RBI and two home runs on the night.
Ryan O’Hearn also went deep with a three-run shot, and Bryan Reynolds chipped in a homer of his own. Pittsburgh scored five runs in the second inning alone and never looked back.
The Pirates and Reds wrap up the series today here in Cincinnati — first pitch at 11:40 this morning. Pittsburgh looking to take the series before heading home to open a three-game set against Baltimore on Friday.
