Pennsylvania has extended its home heating assistance program through May 8th. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, known as LIHEAP, was originally set to close April 10th. So far this season, it has helped more than 233,000 households statewide. Eligible residents can receive cash grants between $200 and $1,000. Those at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty level may qualify. Applications are available at dhs.pa.gov.
