A Kane man was convicted Friday after a five-day trial for a 2022 drug delivery that resulted in death.
38-year-old Michael Cunningham was found guilty of felony Drug Delivery Resulting in Death, felony Delivery of a Controlled Substance, felony Use of a Communication Facility and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
He was acquitted of an additional count of Involuntary Manslaughter.
The conviction stems from an incident on August 11, 2022, where a Kane man was found deceased from an apparent drug overdose at an apartment in Kane with a bundle of fentanyl.
The bundle had Cunningham’s DNA on it and State Police were also able to recover electronic communication between Cunningham and the victim where Cunningham agreed to sell a “bundle” to the victim.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 4.
