An Allegany man was arrested on multiple charges after a domestic incident at an E Union St Apartment early this morning.
Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department charged 47-year-old Salvador Casares with Menacing with a Weapon, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, felony Criminal Contempt for Physical Menace, Aggravated Harassment and Resisting Arrest.
The charges stem from deputies responding to the report of a woman being held at knifepoint. The victim exited her apartment through a second story window, seeking safety at a neighboring apartment while Casares was still in her residence with children.
Casares was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail awaiting further court proceedings.
