An Olean man has admitted to cyberstalking a Minnesota attorney.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says that 29-year-old Luke Marshall Wenke, the former chair of the Cattaraugus County Libertarian Party, harassed and threatened a lawyer by sending 76 emails, leaving a voicemail, making two phone calls to the attorney’s firm, and making numerous fake internet reviews of the firm. Wenke also attempted to visit the law office in person and made references to possessing firearms and having experience with explosives.
Wenke faces up to five years in prison and a $200,000 fine when he is sentenced in August.
