A Bradford inmate at McKean County Jail was arraigned Thursday for breaking another inmate’s jaw in August.
According to The Bradford Era, 41-year-old Armando Aponte was incarcerated on a separate aggravated assault charge for allegedly severely beating a woman in January for “disrespecting him.”
In September, a correctional officer showed police surveillance footage of Aponte going in to Timothy Bottorf’s cell and, after a conversation, punching Bottorf in the face and leaving.
Aponte was arraigned on charges of felony aggravated assault and simple assault and recommitted to jail in lieu of $20,000 bail in this case with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 20.
Aponte is being held on $300,000 bail in the prior aggravated assault case, and is awaiting trial.
