Shoppers who arrived at the Sam’s Club store in Jamestown this morning were shocked to find the store closed with no warning. Company officials say the store will reopen tomorrow morning, but it’s a temporary reprieve and the store will close permanently on the 26th.
The Jamestown store is just one of 63 stores nationwide that abruptly shut their doors today, including at least two other stores in Western New York.
The store is no longer listed as an active location on the company website, referring shoppers to the stores in Cheektowaga, Niagara Falls, and Erie.
The closure comes the same day that parent company Walmart promised to raise its base pay and pay bonuses to existing employees.
