Pennsylvania finally has a budget – or at least the beginnings of one.
Senate leaders returned yesterday to officially transmit the budget to Governor Josh Shapiro, who then signed it into law.
Shapiro also made good on his promise to House Democrats to line-item veto funding for a private school voucher program, which led to the Senate’s refusal to finalize the process for over a month.
However, parts of the budget debate will continue as there are still a number of spending authorization bills that need to be drafted and voted on.
