The City of DuBois has voted to buy out the remainder of suspended City Manager Herm Suplizio’s contract.
The Council voted on Tuesday to advertise the City Manager position as vacant, and begin the “dismissal and buyout” process for Suplizio, who is accused of embezzling over $600,000 from the City, the DuBois Fire Department, and the United Way. The amount of the expected payout has yet to be determined.
The move came a day before the State Attorney General’s office announced they planned new charges against Suplizio.
Only one council member, Councilman Pat Reasinger, voted against the measure, saying Suplizio should not be paid anything.
Sounds like Dubois has at least one council member willing to call a spade a “spade.”
