An investigation is underway into threats made against Olean Schools.
Schools Superintendent Genelle Morris reached out to parents Thursday to inform them that Administrators had been informed of statements allegedly concerning safety at Olean Intermediate Middle School and Olean High School, at which point law enforcement was brought in.
“The situation is currently under investigation,” Morris told parents through the ParentSquare app, “and we are cooperating fully with the authorities to ensure a thorough and swift resolution.”
Details of the threats were not released to protect the integrity of the investigation, but Morris reassured parents that all necessary precautions are being taken.
“Our students’ and staff’s safety and well-being are always our top priorities, and we take any potential threat very seriously,” Morris wrote.
