The town of Scio in Allegany County will receive $2.65 million in grants and interest-free financing for a new water storage tank and nearly 1 mile of water main line.
Scio’s project includes installation of the new water tank replacing the existing tank on Davis Hill Road, and replacement of approximately 5,000 linear feet of aged water main, including appurtenant hydrants and valves.
The town is receiving more than a million dollars in grants and interest-free loans through the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, $300,000 from the state’s Drinking Water Sate Revolving Fund, and a more than 1.5 million dollar Water Infrastructure Improvement grant.
In a press conference, New York Governor Kathy Hochul praised the project, saying “Improving our water infrastructure is essential for building safe and healthy New York communities.”
