Several were charged after a drug investigation on Pennsy Trail in Salamanca early this morning.
Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office charged Matthew Lee Grimes with two counts each of felony third- and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.
The charges stem from deputies allegedly discovering Grimes and several others, including Crystal Lore of Cattaraugus, at 4:58AM with burnt aluminum foil and hypodermic needles on the ground. Grimes’s backpack allegedly contained fentanyl, meth, crack cocaine, suboxone strips, a scale, packaging material and paraphernalia.
Lore was previously arrested hours earlier at a traffic stop at 12:21AM on New Street alongside 23-year-old James Garcia of Little Valley for drug possession.
Lore was in allegedly possession of fentanyl and valium and Garcia was in possession of crack and Xanax.
Lore and Garcia were issued appearance tickets and Grimes was remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail without bail.
