A Mckean County woman has been convicted in the reckless shooting of a Kane man, which resulted in his paralysis.
According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, Tammy Robertson was convicted after a two-day jury trial at the McKean County Courthouse. Police were dispatched to a report of an accidental shooting in March of 2022, which resulted in the victim being airlifted to a local hospital.
Robertson claimed that she had been drinking all day and that the gun had accidentally discharged when she had racked the slide prior to putting the gun away, while a firearms expert with the Pennsylvania State Police testified that the steps required to fire the weapon made accidental discharge unlikely.
Sentencing has been scheduled for January 30th.
