A fugitive was apprehended in Bradford following a high-speed pursuit and foot chase.
Kyle Richard South was spotted by City of Bradford police driving a motor vehicle on Jackson Avenue but South failed to yield for a traffic stop, leading to a pursuit from the City into Buchannan Hollow, where South crashed the vehicle and fled on foot into the woods.
K9 Duke and handler Sgt. Shephard responded to the scene to assist in tracking and apprehension, finding South hiding 10 feet high in the trees.
A search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of Cocaine on the driver’s seat, along with scales and packaging material.
South was charged with felony fleeing officers, felony possession of narcotics with intent to deliver, evading arrest on foot, reckless endangerment and DUI.
South remanded to McKean County Jail on $70,000 bail and a detainer from PA State Parole was also lodged against him for absconding from that agency.
Preliminary hearings are set in the matter.
