An Allegany man was charged after a domestic incident in Hinsdale Thursday afternoon.
New York State Police charged 45-year-old Justin L. Safford with two separate counts of menacing with a weapon.
Safford was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Okay, look, I understand that jails are over-crowded, under-staffed, as well as under-funded. Here is another case, a person charged with counts of menacing with a weapon yet released on an appearance order. At some point, don’t we have to start jailing those people accused of violent criminal behavior? We need to have a serious look at our judicial system. We need to balance our concern with public safety against our impulsiveness nature. What is it that makes us behave the way we do? I wish there were one easy answer to explain all the questions that we can only answer with, ” WTF dude? What were you thinking???!” Good luck to Mr. Safford, and all those connected to him. Good luck to us All.
