Two Salamanca men, a New Albion man and a New Albion woman were all charged with an alleged plot to steal copper wire from Waite Hollow Road in Cattaraugus.
Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of two men trespassing, who both fled when deputies arrived.
42-year-old Nicholas Hughes of Salamanca was found nearby hiding in brush and 35-year-old Kristerpher Ellis of New Ablion was also located up the street.
Hughes and Ellis were both charged with Petit Larceny, Conspiracy and Trespass.
Hughes was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.
44-year-old Christopher Bise of Salamanca and 29-year-old Nicole Brown of New Albion were later implicated in this crime and charged with Conspiracy.
All suspects were released on appearance tickets and are due in New Albion Town Court at a later date.
