Two Olean men were arrested after a traffic stop on Washington Street while driving a car that was allegedly stolen from Jamestown early Friday morning.
Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office charged 40-year–old Anthony M. Margeson and 35-year-old Eric R. Smith with 3 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.
Margeson, the driver, was additionally charged with different felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Burglars’ Tools, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.
Smith, the passenger, was allegedly the one who stole the vehicle.
The charges stem from a vehicle search that allegedly found methamphetamine, Oxycodone Pills, multiple plastic baggies, a scale, lock picking tools, a stolen Samsung smartphone, 4 stolen debit cards, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
Both Margeson and Smith were remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail and are due back in court at a later date for further proceedings.
