A federal court in Pittsburgh issued a change of plea hearing for a Bradford man charged with an alleged $31 million cryptocurrency scam.
37-year-old Shane Hvizdzak and his brother Sean, of St. Marys, are charged in a 65-count indictment with wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering.
Shane is required to be present during the hearing scheduled for today.
A change of plea hearing is for a defendant who previously pleaded not guilty will change their plea to guilty or to no contest, often as a result of a plea agreement.
Jury selection and trial are scheduled to begin Oct. 20 in Pittsburgh pending the results of today’s hearing.
