Sean Hvizdzak has officially revoked his law license permanently as a condition of pleading guilty Monday in the federal court to the $31 million crypto scam case against him and his brother, Shane.
The 39-year-old St. Marys man was a practicing attorney in McKean and Elk counties from October 2014 until November 2021, when he was suspended by the Disciplinary Board of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in connection to the trial related to the scam.
The court has ruled that the length of Sean’s sentence would be reduced if the restitution were to be paid in full prior to sentencing in February.
This includes paying back all the victims plus over $341,000 cash; various jewelry; a boat; seven different amounts of digital currency; the home at 561 High St. and to request estimated tax payments to be returned from the IRS to be submitted for restitution.
Sean will be sentenced at 10 a.m. Feb. 25 and his brother Shane, who pleaded guilty to 49 counts last week, will be sentenced at 10 a.m. Feb. 18.
