An Olean man was arrested on several drug felonies after a police chase on a gas-powered bicycle early Saturday morning.
Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office charged 41-year-old Anthony M. Margeson with felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and various traffic violations.
The charges stem from Margeson allegedly not adhering to a traffic stop on his gas powered bicycle on N. 18th St., leading deputies on a short pursuit.
Margeson lost control of his bicycle on Constitution Ave and crashed, then allegedly began resisting arrest.
Margeson was found to be in possession of oxycodone, methamphetamine, packaging material, and a scale.
Margeson was released on an appearance ticket and multiple uniform traffic tickets and is due in the City of Olean Court at a later date for further proceedings.
