An Allegany County man was sentenced Monday for stabbing a man to death in an Alfred motel room last August.
27-year-old Briar A. York had previously pleaded guilty to felony manslaughter and felony tampering with physical evidence.
York was sentenced to 25 years in state prison as a predicate felon followed by five years of post-release supervision.
The sentence is the maximum allowable by law.
