A house fire on Sixth St in Olean was contained yesterday with no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
Units were initially dispatched to 311 N Sixth St at 11:42 am. According to a press release from Olean Fire Department Chief Eric Maurouard, only three firefighters initially responded due to multiple personnel being unavailable from previous calls. The fire was brought under control at 1:22pm.
The Olean Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Olean Police Department, the Weston Mills Fire Department, and the Portville Fire Department’s air truck, with Love Thy Neighbor also providing assistance.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
