Radiology department students cut the ribbon today on a new X-Ray Room at Olean General Hospital complete with a new X-Ray machine.
Olean Mayor Amy Sherburne thanked Olean General Hospital for their contributions to the community and proclaimed a “new era of diagnostic innovation.”
According to Laura Wertz, the Director of Imaging Services, X-Rays are extremely important and this new machine will service a variety of departments, including both inpatient and outpatient services, the Emergency department, and referrals from local private practices.
The Radiology Department typically sees upwards of a hundred patients a day, and this new equipment would likely be able to service fifty to sixty patients each day, as well as providing valuable experience for students from a variety of local universities in the School of Radiology program.
