The St. Bonaventure Bonnies baseball wrapped up Atlantic 10 play over the weekend, dropping two of three on the road against George Washington Colonials baseball.
The Bonnies fell in Friday’s opener 8 to 2, struggling to generate offense while allowing early runs that put them behind. They bounced back Saturday with a 5 to 3 win, getting a strong outing on the mound and timely hitting to even the series.
But in Sunday’s rubber game, St. Bonaventure couldn’t keep pace, falling 7 to 4, as walks and a couple of key defensive miscues extended innings and led to big runs for George Washington.
Offensively, the Bonnies showed flashes, especially in the middle game, but left runners on base in key spots throughout the series. On the mound, command issues and free passes proved costly, particularly in the two losses.
Now, St. Bonaventure turns the page. The Bonnies return home Tuesday at 3:00pm to host Buffalo Bulls baseball at Handler Park.
