The Buffalo Sabres are Atlantic Division champions.
Buffalo closed out a strong road performance on April 13th with a 5 to 1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center. The Sabres controlled the game from the start, generating offense early while tightening things up defensively and getting solid goaltending to secure the win.
Buffalo’s balanced attack produced scoring throughout the lineup, while the defense limited Chicago’s chances and kept momentum firmly on the Sabres’ side.
The division title wasn’t officially clinched until later in the night, when an overtime result involving the Tampa Bay Lightning locked things up for Buffalo.
With the win and the help from Tampa Bay’s result, the Sabres secure the Atlantic Division crown and home-ice advantage through the first two rounds of the playoffs.
