The University of Pittsburgh today announced The Pitt Regional Campus Tuition Pledge, a tuition-free program beginning Fall 2026 for eligible Pennsylvania residents at its Bradford, Greensburg, and Johnstown campuses and the Titusville Nursing program.
Pennsylvania residents — both new and currently enrolled students — whose household Adjusted Gross Income is $75,000 or less will pay $0 in tuition. Pitt covers whatever tuition remains after all federal, state, and institutional aid has been applied, regardless of how much other aid a student receives.
“The Pitt Regional Campus Tuition Pledge reflects our deep commitment to the students attending our regional campuses,” said University of Pittsburgh Chancellor Joan Gabel. “Students in Bradford, Greensburg, Johnstown, Titusville and across Pennsylvania deserve affordable access to a University of Pittsburgh education, and this program is our direct investment in making that a reality while strengthening the communities our regional campuses serve.”
The program is open to current, new, and transfer students alike. No separate application is required. Students simply file the FAFSA each year, and if they qualify, the benefit is applied to their account automatically. The pledge covers tuition only; textbooks, housing, meals, and other fees are not included.
Pitt’s regional campuses serve students across western and central Pennsylvania, many of whom are first-generation college students, Pell Grant recipients, and community members with deep ties to their regions.
The Pitt Regional Campus Tuition Pledge combines the value of a full Pitt education close to home with the financial certainty needed to start and complete a degree, building on existing initiatives such as Pitt Pell Plus and the Partners for Rural Student Success Impact and Mobility Project.
“A university education can have a life-changing impact,” said Pitt Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor Joseph J. McCarthy. “Expanding access to an affordable, high-quality education remains a central strategic priority for the University. The Pitt Regional Campus Tuition Pledge reflects our sustained commitment to opening doors of opportunity and supporting student success across our communities.”
