The New York Yankees had their six-game win streak snapped Wednesday night in the Bronx.
Texas Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi was brilliant — going eight full innings, striking out eight, and allowing just one run on three hits. The final score? Rangers six, Yankees one. A tough night for New York’s offense — just three hits on the night — and starter Will Warren took the loss, giving up six runs in just four innings.
The one bright spot for the Yankees? Aaron Judge — who else — went one for four with a solo home run, his thirteenth of the season, accounting for New York’s only run. Cody Bellinger added a base hit but the rest of the lineup was largely held in check.
Despite the loss, the Bombers still sit at a dominant twenty-five and twelve — best record in the American League.
The series wraps up today — Game Three at Yankee Stadium, first pitch at twelve-thirty-five Eastern. New York sends Paul Blackburn to the mound — the righty carries a three-twenty-one E-R-A on the year. Texas counters with MacKenzie Gore.
Then the Yankees hit the road — heading to Milwaukee for a three-game set against the Brewers starting Friday night.
