It’s the final home series of the season for the Bonnies, and they’d love nothing more than to send the seniors out on a high note.
St. Bonaventure welcomes Fordham to Handler Park at McGraw-Jennings Field today — a three-game set running through Saturday. The Bonnies come in at eight and twenty-one overall, three and nine in the Atlantic 10, and this is their last crack at the home crowd before the conference tournament picture gets sorted out.
On the mound today, expect to see senior David James — the ace of the Bonaventure staff. James has been outstanding this year, posting a 3.86 ERA with seventy strikeouts across seventy-two innings and thirteen starts, including a pair of complete games.
Offensively, keep an eye on junior centerfielder Anthony Fernandez, who comes in riding a thirteen-game hitting streak — the longest on the team this year. And Joey Calabretti — the junior first baseman — continues to mash, with 11 home runs on the season, the most by any Bonnie in nearly two decades.
First pitch today is set for three o’clock.
