The Bucs had a rough one at PNC Park Wednesday night.
The Colorado Rockies jumped all over Pittsburgh, handing the Pirates a 10-4 loss and evening the series at one game apiece. Mitch Keller took the loss — the right-hander lasted five and two-thirds innings, giving up seven hits and six earned runs, including a home run. Colorado’s Mickey Moniak was the story of the night for the visitors — going three-for-five with a home run, a triple, and five RBIs.
There was one bright spot in the Pittsburgh lineup. Ryan O’Hearn went two-for-four with a double and a solo shot.
Pittsburgh managed just six hits on the night and went only one-for-nine with runners in scoring position — too many missed opportunities against a Rockies club that entered the series near the bottom of the National League West.
The rubber match is today — first pitch at 12:35 this afternoon at PNC Park
