The San Antonio Spurs came into Madison Square Garden Monday night and silenced the crowd — beating the New York Knicks 115-111 to cut New York’s series lead to two games to one.
Victor Wembanyama was an absolute force — finishing with thirty-two points, eight rebounds, six assists, and three blocks on an efficient sixty-one percent shooting night. Stephon Castle was equally impressive — pouring in twenty-three points on fourteen shots while dishing five assists. San Antonio had twenty-eight assists as a team, moving the ball beautifully all night and scoring twenty-one points off New York’s thirteen turnovers.
Jalen Brunson matched Wembanyama point for point — finishing with thirty-two of his own — but it wasn’t enough. OG Anunoby was brilliant with twenty-eight points on sixty-nine percent shooting, and Josh Hart added sixteen points and nine rebounds. But New York got outscored thirty-five to twenty-seven in the third quarter and couldn’t recover.
The Knicks’ thirteen turnovers on their own floor proved to be the difference.
Game 4 is Wednesday night back at Madison Square Garden — tip-off at seven-thirty Eastern on ABC. New York still leads the series two games to one.
