The Yankees rallied late Tuesday night in Detroit to even up the series.
New York trailed three-to-one heading into the sixth, but a three-run outburst flipped the game — Jazz Chisholm Junior’s two-run homer was the big blow, and José Caballero added an RBI single to put the Yankees ahead for good in a 4-3 win. Carlos Rodón battled through five-and-a-third innings for the win, and David Bednar locked it down for the save.
Anthony Volpe had two hits, and Austin Wells and Jasson Domínguez each chipped in run-producing doubles.
Ryan Weathers is scheduled to take the mound for New York on Wednesday with Tigers ace Tarik Skubal on the Hill for Detroit.
