The Olean Oilers are rolling. Olean stayed hot Tuesday night, blasting the Auburn Doubledays 17 to 2, powered by a ten-run third inning. It’s the Oilers’ fifth straight win, pushing them to sixteen and sixteen on the season.
Meanwhile, the region’s best high schoolers are getting their due. The 2026 Big 30 Baseball All-Stars were unveiled this week, and the headline honor goes to Genesee Valley/Belfast Central’s Ethan Davenport, named Big 30 Pitcher of the Year after a dazzling zero-point-nine-three-two E-R-A this spring. Teammate Ben Cater also earned Big 30 recognition for the Jaguars.
And in the region’s other big diamond news, former Portville pitcher Maxx Yehl — most recently at West Virginia — was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the third round of this year’s MLB Draft.
