Jazz Chisholm Jr. put on a show in the Bronx. Chisholm homered twice and drove in five runs, powering the Yankees past the Pirates 8-to-5 Monday night — his 10th career multi-homer game, and it comes one night after he delivered the tie-breaking blast in New York’s doubleheader win over the Dodgers. Chisholm’s night included a three-run shot in the first and a go-ahead two-run homer in the third, both off Pirates All-Star Braxton Ashcraft, who took the loss.
Things got heated late — benches and bullpens cleared in the eighth after words between Pittsburgh’s Dennis Santana and Yankees infielder José Caballero, though order was restored with no ejections.
