The Joe Brady era got off to a soggy start in Pittsford. The Bills opened training camp Wednesday at St. John Fisher University in a steady, hour-and-a-half rain — and Brady wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. “It’s got to be a tough camp,” Brady told reporters, calling the rainy first day “perfect.”
Josh Allen looked sharp connecting with his receivers despite the conditions, and tight end Dalton Kincaid — fully cleared after last year’s knee injury — turned in a productive first day of work with his quarterback. Brady praised Kincaid’s conditioning test performance, saying he “absolutely knocked it out of the park.”
This year’s camp is different in more ways than the weather — just seven open practices instead of last year’s eleven, and every session now starts at eight-thirty in the morning, more than an hour earlier than under former coach Sean McDermott.
Camp runs through August 7th before shifting to the new Highmark Stadium.
