History in Orchard Park. The Bills held their annual Return of the Blue and Red practice Saturday — the very first event at the brand-new Highmark Stadium — and 51,807 fans packed the building, a record crowd for the event. Quarterback Kyle Allen had a strong showing, connecting with Mecole Hardman and Dante Pettis for touchdowns, while safety Cole Bishop matched Dalton Kincaid stride for stride for an interception.
It wasn’t all celebration, though — center Connor McGovern and running back Ty Johnson both left practice with injuries, Johnson on a non-contact play during a one-on-one drill. Weather also played spoiler for parts of the session. Still, for a fan base that’s waited years for this new stadium, it was a night to remember.
