What a wild one at PNC Park. The Pirates outlasted the Giants 13-to-12 in a game that had absolutely everything, capped by a walk-off throwing error in the ninth. Neither ace looked the part — reigning Cy Young winner Paul Skenes allowed five runs before exiting, while Giants starter Logan Webb didn’t even record an out, charged with nine earned runs. Pittsburgh built an 11-run lead before San Francisco stormed back to tie it 12-12 in the eighth. Oneil Cruz tied a career-high with four RBIs and four hits, and Brandon Lowe went 4-for-6 with a homer and three runs scored.
It’s Pittsburgh’s fifth walk-off win of the season and their first game-ending error win since April of 2024. Mason Montgomery picked up the win, extending his scoreless streak to over 14 innings.
