It’s the last day the NHL allowed eight-year deals before the new collective bargaining agreement caps future extensions at seven. Buffalo opens its four-game preseason slate Monday, September 21st on the road at Pittsburgh, then returns home the very next night to host Columbus at KeyBank Center. The real regular season begins October 1st at Columbus.
