An Olean man and an Allegany woman were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop on Parkway Drive in Salamanca Friday night.
Deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office charged 38-year-old Justin T. Hellmer and 32-year-old Ashley L. Spencer with two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Hellmer was charged with an additional misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia and criminal possession of a weapon while Spencer was issued a seat-belt violation.
The charges stem from the traffic stop where police allegedly found Hellmer in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, Xanax, packaging material and a gravity knife.
Spencer was found to be in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. Both Hellmer and Spencer were released on an appearance ticket and are due at the City of Salamanca Court at a later date.
