Penn State’s unbeaten season is over. Wisconsin stormed back to beat the 13th-ranked Nittany Lions 24-20 Saturday, scoring the game’s final two touchdowns after trailing 20-10.
Penn State led most of the way behind a strong defensive effort — Josiah Zayas took an interception back 51 yards for a touchdown, and Tony Rojas added another pick. James Peoples led the ground game with 67 yards on 14 carries. But Wisconsin answered with an 11-yard touchdown pass, then broke the game open on a 72-yard scoring catch with just over a minute left. Penn State’s last chance died at the Wisconsin 33-yard line on four straight incompletions.
Penn State now prepares to face Northwestern on Friday, October 2.
