The Penguins’ road trip ended without a point. Utah beat Pittsburgh five to four Monday night in Salt Lake City, the Penguins’ fourth straight loss, and they went oh-and-four on the trip.
Pittsburgh fell behind five to two early in the third period. Egor Chinakhov and Carlile scored to make it five-four, and Arturs Silovs was pulled for an extra attacker. Utah’s Sebastian Cossa stopped Ben Kindel’s shot in the final seconds. Erik Karlsson and Rickard Rakell each scored on the power play, and each added an assist. Silovs stopped twenty-four of twenty-nine shots. The Penguins are three-six-and-one and have lost seven of their last eight.
The Penguins host Florida Thursday.
