The Rays are going to the World Series. Tampa Bay beat Cleveland seven to three in Game Six Monday night at Tropicana Field and won the American League Championship Series, four games to two. It’s the franchise’s third pennant, and its first since 2020.
The Rays won the last three games, outscoring Cleveland seventeen to seven. Junior Caminero hit a two-run homer in the seventh, and Yandy Díaz homered in the eighth. Freddy Peralta won Game Six, allowing one run in five and a third innings, and was named series MVP. He went 2-0, with a 0.75 ERA.
Next up are the Brewers, who traded Peralta in January. Game One is Friday in Milwaukee.
