Rasmus Dahlin and Jason Zucker came back, and the Buffalo Sabres still lost, 3-1 to the Flyers Wednesday night at KeyBank Center.
Philadelphia rookie Cole Knuble scored twice, the first two goals of his NHL career, in just his second game. Trevor Zegras added a power-play goal.
Zucker, in his season debut, got Buffalo on the board with a power-play goal with 35 seconds left in the second period. But that was all. Dan Vladar made 27 saves, and the Sabres managed just five shots in the third period. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 23 of 26.
Buffalo is 4-4-2, and has now trailed by two goals in nine of its first ten games.
The Sabres open a four-game road trip Saturday at Washington.
