The Tampa Bay Rays are still alive. Tuesday night, they rallied in the twelfth inning to beat Milwaukee, 4-3, and avoid a World Series sweep.
The Brewers were three outs from their first title when Cooper Pratt hit a solo home run in the top of the twelfth to make it three-two.
Then the Rays answered. A throwing error put Junior Caminero on, and Liam Hicks singled. Jonny DeLuca’s single tied the game, Chandler Simpson loaded the bases, and pinch-hitter Ben Williamson singled to right for the win. Five straight Rays reached base. It snapped Milwaukee’s eight-game postseason winning streak.
Milwaukee still leads the series, three games to one. Game Five is Wednesday at eight Eastern. Jacob Misiorowski starts for the Brewers. The Rays haven’t named a starter.
