Flu activity has increased during the past week in all regions of Pennsylvania, according to the state health department’s latest report.
Cameron County has the highest flu rate in the state, when considering the number of cases vs. the county’s population. Elk County is number 2; Potter County number 3.
McKean County is 12th highest out of 67 counties with 228 cases reported from October 1 through Saturday.
The health department says it’s still not too late to get a flu shot if you haven’t gotten one yet. They add that although many people believe you can get the flu from the vaccine, the CDC says that’s not true. They say while some people can get a reaction, it’s not the flu.
