A Bradford man has admitted to stealing $200 worth of merchandise from the Chestnut Street Uni-Mart, along with evidence from a previous crime.
19-year-old Brandon Benjamin conspired with Gregory Benavidez to commit the theft. The evidence was on a flash drive kept behind the counter. Benjamin also took $20 from the family of a dead person.
He is scheduled for sentencing August 15 in McKean County Court. Benavidez’s next court date is scheduled for August 22.

A Bradford man has pleaded guilty to punching another man in the face.
24-year-old Matthew Wells punched the other man four times, knocking out a tooth. The victim said he felt as if his jaw was broken.
A Port Allegany woman has pleaded guilty to escape.
On April 22, 27-year-old Natasha Canfield was being arrested on a bench warrant for absconding when she was able to get out of the handcuffs and run into the woods.
A man has admitted to forging checks and stealing money from a Bradford business.
29-year-old Curtis Howard wrote out two checks belonging to Allegheny Store Fixtures to himself. The total of the checks was more than $1,000.
A man who stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from the Foster Brook Walmart has pleaded guilty to theft.
49-year-old Dwayne Motley of Olean also tired to return an air mattress that he didn’t buy.
A Bradford man has pleaded guilty to harassing his elderly neighbors.
On April 16, 54-year-old David Burns approached the neighbors, clenched his fists, screamed and tried to get the man to fight him. He then threw boards on the neighbors’ property.
Wells, Canfield, Howard, Motley and Burns are all scheduled for sentencing August 15 in McKean County Court.

The former administrator of the Lutheran Home at Kane has been accepted to the county’s ARD program after being charged with stealing money from the facility.
39-year-old Jessica Smelko of Shippenville was accused of not turning over nearly $4,000 the home received for recycled scrap, and making about $1,600 worth of purchases with the nursing home’s credit cards for her own use.
She has already paid restitution. If she completes the ARD program, the charges are dropped.
